The Genie is an artist, musician, and performer from San Francisco, California. A full-time live performer for the past 20 years he is in a league of his own, becoming known for his avant-garde guitar playing and live-looping innovations.
He has blessed countless stages in the past two decades and has shared the stage with such notable artists such as DJ Qbert, Shabazz Palaces, Talvin Singh, Beardy Man, DJ Logic, KJ Sawka, and Kamasi Washington.
His recent releases include collaborations with Killah Priest (Wu Tang Clan), Zumbi (Zion I), M-1 (Dead Prez), Myka Nyne (Freestyle Fellowship), and Deuce Eclipse (Bang Data). All in all, The Genie is one of the most innovative guitarists and ground-breaking performing artists of this era who is leaving and indelible mark in the world of music and art.
In recent years he has also gained notoriety for creating mirrored-Mylar installations including his “Crystal Mirror Space” studio.

Our story
For the past five years he has opened his immersive music studio to the public on the Airbnb Experiences platform, for which he creates customized musical “g-mix sets” for clients from all over the world who come for an unforgettable musical/visual experience.

EXPERIENCE
Basically a live, private concert which incorporates a technique called “G-mixing.”
Every client who books through Airbnb to supply a few of their favorite artists, then prepares a custom 45-minute set of cover songs that incorporates samples from the original recordings as well as live instrumentation and vocals.
Any artist is fair game, from the most obscure electronic producers to mega pop stars like Taylor Swift. And even if The Genie isn’t necessarily a Swiftie, he’s still happy to oblige.
